Clitoral stimulators - a (gentle) introduction to vibrators
Many people assume that vibrators are always designed to be put inside you, but there are some stunning designs on the market which are designed for clitoral stimulation, rather than vaginal penetration. For the first timer vibrator buyer, a clitoral stimulator is a gentle introduction to the enjoyment that they can bring.
As they are designed to stimulate the clitoris, they are unthreatening in size, and if Aunt Agatha is popping around for tea and being a bit nosey, unlikely to arouse much suspicion.
A common types of clitoral stimulator is the bullet. Unfortunately, we have not been able to find a model we are willing to stock of this type, as many run on watch style batteries, which give up after a short period. The other type are often likened to small mobile phones, and we stock models of this type from both Lelo and Fun Factory.
First we have the Fun Factory LayaSpot. It is an excellent vibrator, powered by two AAA batteries, has a cheerful modern styling. It provides excellent value, as well as strong orgasms. Although a little noisier than the Lelos (see below), it certainly won't wake the neighbours. It also has the advantage of being waterproof, for a little bathtime fun.
Moving up the range, you’ll find the Lelo Nea and Lily. Both the Nea and Lily are powerful, discreet, rechargeable vibrators. Both are whisper quiet, with the price difference between the two basically down to the finish – the Nea is finished in a hard plastic, whereas the Lily has a smoother finish that most people prefer. Both make excellent gifts, as the Lelo packaging is always superb.
Be sure read our in depth Lelo Lily review which has a length description and loads of pictures.
The Lelo Nea and Lily are particularly quiet, so if you share a house, or want something to put a smile on your face when visiting the mother-in-law’s, either will be an excellent choice.
We also include the Lelo Gigi in this range, although it is a G-spot stimulator, it has a more traditional shape, the flat head which is designed to apply vibrations to the G-spot is also excellent for applying directly to the clitoris. If you like strong stimulation, this may be the way to go.
Clitoral stimulators needn’t exclude your partner either. Use them to show him how you like to be touched, or just use them during lovemaking. The spoons position is great for this, allowing you to easily apply the vibrator.
