Getting Kinky

Getting Kinky

A little kink is good for the soul, that is what I’ve decided. I mean, look at what happened with that Fifty Shades book: everyone was reading it, and my theory on why is simply that folks wanted a bit of validation. It’s okay not to be vanilla. Let’s face it, we Brits have two approaches to sex: it’s what you do after marriage to have babies or it’s something to laugh and joke about ‘Carry On’ style. There isn’t much between. However, sex is far more than that. I’ve finished having kids and I still enjoy a good shag with Mr Divine and yes, sometimes, the traditional missionary position does the trick quite nicely but other times a bit of imagination is needed.

I have my own little list of kinks. I like to be dominated a bit, but not on a full time basis, and spanking is pretty damn good fun whether I’m giving or receiving. I like to dress up sometimes, naughty school girl, giggling maid, naughty nurse… it’s all a bit of grown up make believe that adds a little spice and keeps my marriage new and exciting even though it’s a couple of decades old now. Mr D dresses up for me sometimes too. He makes a cracking strict teacher or headmaster and he has this white lab coat he wears sometimes when I’m pretending to be poorly and his thermometer is… well, less than traditional shall we say. There’s nothing wrong with indulging in your playful side now and then.

The great thing is, you needn’t spend fortunes on costumes and props: you can use what you have to hand. I know we’ve brought a few things, we’ve got these lovely silk and suede cuffs to tie me to the bed with, which are wonderfully pretty. And I’ve been known to buy vibrators just for a certain scene I want to play – well, that’s my excuse for it anyway, but mostly it’s about having fun and you can have fun even if you just conjure it all up in your mind. Dirty talk can take you many places, diary, as I told you in an earlier entry.

I think we all need to be less hung up about sex, and freer to just experiment and have fun with it. Different strokes for different folks as Mum always used to say… I’m not sure she was talking about kink when she used the phrase. It fits, though. We all get off on different things, and we should certainly feel free enough to do it. I’m lucky, Mr Divine encourages me to tell him all my sexy desires and where he can, he fulfils them for me. I’m waiting for the fire engine filled with hunky fire fighters to come rescue me from my burning lusts, but I’m not sure even Mr Divine can pull that one off… I will live in hope, though. Now, I just need to get Mr D a fake fire fighter’s helmet and he can practise in it – strictly in case of emergency, diary, of course!
